Hyssop is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Labiatae family native to Southern Europe, the Middle East, and the region surrounding the Caspian Sea. Hyssop and her sister plants - Lavender, Rosemary, Savory, and Thyme - thrive on the poor, rocky soil and full sun, both so plentiful in this region
